WOYC GRANT 2018 (Application Closed)

First 5 Shasta provides support for Shasta County Week of the Young Child events and activities by offering small grants. Any local organization, group, or individual that needs up to $500 to help cover the costs associated with offering an event is welcome to apply for grant funding. Requests may also be made for children’s books – in addition to or instead of funding. Use the same application for funding and books!

Annual Funding

Requests may be made for 1) cash awards, 2) cash plus children’s books, or 3) just children’s books!

Total WOYC Budget: $6,000
Request Amount Range: $100 to $500
To Apply: CLOSED January 31, 2018
Deadline: January 31, 2018 (5:00 p.m.)

Annual Schedule

First 5 Shasta offers the following annual schedule for WOYC Grants with the intention of giving applicants ample time to research projects they might be interested in producing and submit a formal application to request funding. This schedule permits First 5 Shasta to review applications, confirm awards, and deliver funds to recipients in time to purchase any needed tangible goods prior to the event.


  • January: Grant Application available and deadline to apply

  • February: Grantees notified of award

  • April: WOYC events happen!

  • May: Grantees submit grant report
