Strategic Plan

The Strategic Plan 2012-2018 was developed after examination of local needs and determination of most effective methods for allocating First 5 Shasta resources to achieve desired results.

This Strategic Plan is supported by our adopted strategic framework “Pathway to Children Ready for School and Succeeding at Third Grade.” The “Pathway” framework provides a foundation for the Strategic Plan, informing the selection of Pathway Goals, Action Areas, and Actions that will combine with First 5 Shasta Initiatives to help guide Commission investments in the coming years.

As recipients of Proposition 10 funding under The Children and Families Act, First 5 Shasta is required to have a Strategic Plan in place to guide our work and investments. This Strategic Plan is revisited annually to help us stay in step with the evolving needs of young children, their families, and our community. Our current Strategic Plan 2012-2018 will be reviewed each year and an updated plan is scheduled for publication in 2019.
