Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 24, 2026
Our commitment
First 5 Shasta is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every member of our community — parents, caregivers, educators, service providers, and the children and families we serve — deserves equal access to the information and resources we provide.
Current status
Our website is currently undergoing a comprehensive accessibility review and remediation against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This work is in progress, and we expect it to continue through the coming weeks.
We acknowledge that some areas of the site may not yet meet our accessibility goals. Known areas being addressed include color contrast on text and interactive elements, accessible names for icon-based navigation, and consistent labeling across forms and interactive components.
Third-party content
Some content on our website is provided by third parties, including embedded Google Maps, YouTube videos, social media links, and external forms. We do not control the accessibility of this third-party content and cannot guarantee it meets the same standards we are working toward for our own pages.
Documents posted on the site, including PDF agendas, plans, and resource files, may not yet meet accessibility standards. We are evaluating these separately.
